NOT available during the 1st Trimester. During the Mommy to be’s 2nd Trimester, gentle to light massage is recommended. The mothers upper body is slightly elevated to lessen the pressure from the abdominal blood vessels. If the mother has swollen ankles, her knees and feet can be elevated with a bolster or pillows. During the 3rd Trimester, massage therapy offers temporary relief to the growing discomfort of organ displacement and stress on the neck and shoulders of added baby weight. A gentle massage will help with comfort and circulation. Pillows are provided for the abdomen, knees, and under the top arm to allow for comfort and relieve stress.
